CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY SEASON OF HOPE A SUCCESS
JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (January 3, 2023) The Chautauqua County Humane Society’s (CCHS) Season of Hope wrapped up Friday, December 30th. The goal to get 100 animals into homes, whether foster or adoptive was met. CCHS Senior Programs Director Brian Papalia said, “We are grateful to the community response to the Season of Hope. We also want to recognize the hard work of our amazing volunteers and staff. We couldn’t have done it without the help of our presenting sponsor Happy Hounds Hotel and Day Spa, Greater Chautauqua Federal Credit Union, and Fessenden Laumer and DeAngelo PLLC, as well as our media sponsors Media One Radio Group, WNY News Now, The Post Journal, and WRFA.”
Due to the intense weather during the week before Christmas, the Season of Hope was extended to Friday, December 30th. Papalia said that led to some very special adoptions, “On the last day of the adoption drive we saw cats Pullman Island and Sparrow head home. Pullman Island came to CCHS with 82 other cats form the north county in July of 2020 and Sparrow came to the shelter in October 2021. Two see two cats go home together is always special, but when you see one of our longest staying residents along with a cat who had been here well over a year, that is just amazing.”
As 2023 kicks off the Chautauqua County Humane Society has many animals that are still looking for homes and are continually taking in new animals that will be readied for adoption. If you would like to learn more about the animals or get involved, please visit Chqhumane.org or stop by the CCHS Adoption Center, 2825 Strunk Road in Jamestown from 1-5:30 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, or from 11-3 on Saturday.
The Chautauqua County Humane Society is a 501c3 not for profit organization serving Chautauqua County since 1905. CCHS’s mission is “To improve and save lives through compassionate care, advocacy for animals and commitment to the community.”
